I Tried eBay Reselling for 5 Weeks… Here’s Exactly What I Made
Well, I’ve done it. I’ve started another YouTube channel.
This one is called The Rural Reseller, and it’s going to follow me attempting to build an eBay reselling business from scratch, from my little corner of rural Scotland.
I’ve been selling on eBay properly as a business for just over a month now, and rather than waiting until I have 1,000 listings, years of experience and an impressive success story to tell you, I thought it might actually be more interesting to document all of the beginning.
Because I love watching reseller videos, but so often you discover somebody when they already have a huge eBay shop, mountains of stock and sales going out every day.
And I’m always thinking...
Okay, but how did you actually get there?
That’s what The Rural Reseller is going to be about.
Building an eBay business from scratch
I’m still figuring all of this out.
I’m learning what stock sells, what absolutely refuses to sell, how much I should be paying for things, how to price them, how much eBay advertising is actually worth using and how on earth you store hundreds of pieces of clothing without your house slowly becoming a warehouse.
Because I have agoraphobia and live in rural Scotland, I can’t spend my days driving around charity shops and car boot sales sourcing stock.
We have one little charity shop in my village, which I love, but the majority of my stock currently comes from clothing wholesalers.
So I’m also interested to see whether I can build a genuinely profitable reselling business using wholesale clothing as my main source of inventory.
There will be wholesale unboxings, eBay listing days, what-sold videos, experiments, mistakes, storage chaos, sourcing, packaging orders and plenty of actual numbers as the business grows.
Or doesn’t grow.
We shall see. 😂

I go through my first proper weeks as an eBay business seller, what I’ve learned already, where the shop is currently at and the rather ambitious target I’m working towards next.
I’m not putting the results here because that would rather defeat the point of me making the video.
