Introducing The 6:8:1 Method: grief comes in waves.

Updated: Nov 21, 2025

My book is now available on Amazon — click here to read it.

It’s been a little while since I last shared anything here. And honestly, it’s because I’ve been deep in something really personal — something that took every bit of me to create.

Now that it’s complete, I’m finally ready to talk about it.

It’s my new book: The 6:8:1 Method. And alongside it, a companion journal that turns the book into something you can actually use day by day.

Why I Wrote This Book

I live with severe OCD and agoraphobia. A couple of years ago, I hit what I can only describe as the lowest point in my life.

This wasn’t just a bad week or a difficult season. It was the kind of exhaustion that makes you stop in your tracks.

I couldn’t sleep, couldn’t function, couldn’t imagine the future. There wasn’t a dramatic breakdown — just a quiet collapse where I stopped coping completely - because grief comes in waves.

The only reason I’m still here is because, little by little, I started searching for ways to pull myself back, to cope with my grief. Not “think positive” quotes or vague motivational speeches — I needed something real. Science-backed, practical steps. Small things I could do even when I felt like I had nothing left.

Those little experiments are what kept me alive. And over time, they formed a structure I could come back to — something I called The 6:8:1 Method.

What The 6:8:1 Method Means

This book is not a magic cure. It’s not about becoming perfect or suddenly “fixing” everything.

It’s about survival.

When everything feels overwhelming, the only thing that matters is finding actions you can repeat — tiny steps to stop the freefall.

  • 6 years of full-time caring for my dad.

  • 8 years of feeling completely lost and broken.

  • 1 moment of clarity.

That’s where the name 6:8:1 comes from. What are your numbers?

The book is part memoir, part toolkit. I share my story openly — but I didn’t want it to be just a story about pain. I wanted it to also be a set of tools other people could pick up and actually use when they’re in that same dark place.

Why There’s a Companion Journal

One of the hardest truths I’ve had to accept is that healing isn’t linear. You don’t read one book, find one idea, and suddenly become “fixed.” It’s ongoing. You need room to write things out, to circle back, to reflect at different stages.

That’s why I created the companion journal.

It’s not a filler. It’s a space built with prompts and reminders to help you work through the 6:8:1 Method in your life. The book shows you the framework; the journal gives you the structure to live it.

Who I Wrote It For

This isn’t a book for people who already feel on top of the world. It’s not for those who want pretty affirmations they can pin to a mood board.

It’s for people who are barely hanging on. For anyone living through grief, caring for someone else, navigating mental illness, or simply feeling knocked flat by life.

When I was at my lowest, trying to heal from grief, I never saw myself in the glossy self-help world. It felt unreachable. I didn’t want to be preached at by someone claiming they’d “figured it all out.”

So I wrote this from the middle of it. From the perspective of someone still living with OCD, still using these exact tools every single day just to stay steady. That’s why it feels real — because it is.

“It wasn’t a breakdown. It was a quiet collapse — the kind that steals everything at once.”

Grief Comes in Waves

Creating The 6:8:1 Method has been the hardest and most important project of my life so far. It’s not theory. It’s me, handing over the rope I used to climb out of the darkest place I’ve ever been.

My whole mission comes down to three words: healing, creating, earning. This book is the healing part. For anyone who needs it, I hope it offers the same lifeline it gave me.

Thanks for being here, and for letting me share something so close to my heart.
